We arrived in Varanasi a little apprehensive, but one of Pintu’s assistants was already waiting for us at the airport. Then we got to the hotel and Pintu was there waiting to chat and plan our days! I highly recommend him! He’s a really great guy! Don’t hesitate to hire him!

Varanasi 24hs Increíbles e Intensas Una cosa es visitar Varanasi y otra muy distinta es “conocer Varanasi”, y eso se logra con un guía como Pintu. Este fue mi primer viaje a la India. Llegué allí gracias a un viaje de trabajo junto a un colega. Después de una semana de trabajo en Chennai, nos tomamos unos días para conocer algo de este increíble país. Nuestro primer contacto directo fue con la increíble Varanasi. Nada de lo que te cuenten o veas en un video alcanza para describir lo que es este lugar. Todo acurre junto, al mismo tiempo y nuestros cerebros occidentales no logran asimilar lo que llega a tus ojos, nariz, oídos,… Pero con la compañía de un local como Pintu vas entrando en sincronía con el lugar, vas sintiendo tu alrededor, disfrutando de cada paso por el laberinto de pasajes de la ciudad, apreciando el caos que tiene un sentido. Pintu te cuenta la historia antigua, te la trae al presente, te transmite su pasión por este lugar, te lleva a lugares que solo nunca encontrarías. Camina al frente, sin dejar de estar atento a tu seguridad, marcando los lugares donde comer una deliciosa samosa o donde sirven el mejor chai masala junto a un pan con nata. Nunca experimenté tanto en tan corto tiempo. Caminamos por sus calles y pasajes, visitamos templos, subimos y bajamos las escalinatas de los Ghats, presenciamos ceremonias, funerales, navegamos por el rio Ganges al atardecer y al amanecer. Poco dormimos y mucho disfrutamos. De la mano de Pintu conoces a gente local que trabaja con la seda, con perfumes y dulces. Personas increíbles que te transmiten el amor por sus oficios y que no dejan de intentar venderte su arte, negociando con vos para que te lleves un recuerdo mas de este fabuloso lugar de la India. A primera impresión pareciera que el valor de los servicios de Pintu son caros, pero no duden (sin dejar de regatear el precio final), que valen cada rupia que pagas. Todo lo que te prometió al comienzo se cumple con creces, no te defrauda y te deja con ganas de más. Te vas de Varanasi lleno, queriendo volver. Gracias Pintu y Sumit por su compañía y pasión.
